History

History:
While University of New Hampshire’s Club Hockey team is beginning it’s 6th year as a recognized Club sport, it’s root’s date back to the fall of 1994. Originally founded as the NH Ragin Moose, the team’s first seven years were flooded with success. As a 100% student run organization, the Ragin Moose competed with local Club and Junior hockey programs before being awarded recognition by the University of New Hampshire. Since then, the team has continued its winning ways and in the process, achieved local and national prominence.

The 2009/10 season marks the teams 7th year as an official member of the American Collegiate Hockey Association (www.achahockey.org/). Prior to the start of the 2006/07 season, the UNH Club Hockey team was honored in joining one of the premier Club Hockey Leagues in the country, the Super East Collegiate Hockey League (www.sechl.com).

Our mission statement is clear; we provide student athletes with an opportunity to get a great education and play an extremely competitive and demanding brand of hockey. At a school where hockey and education are steeped in tradition, the University of New Hampshire’s Club Hockey team strives for excellence, both on and off the ice.
