The SECHL was informally created in 1995. The league was formally organized by the 1996-97 season. Ten years later, the SECHL has become a power conference in the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) at the Division II level. www.sechl.com
American Collegiate Hockey Association
The American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) began as a men's collegiate hockey league in 1992, and quickly grew to a league of over 150 teams in three men's divisions. The Women's Division was added in 2000. The ACHA currently consists of four divisions with over 300 teams from across the nation.
The purpose of the ACHA is to support quality, unity and regulation of four-year intercollegiate hockey programs nationwide. www.achahockey.org
