UNH Club Hockey Banquet Recap!

UNH hosted its annual end of the year this past Saturday afternoon at the Whittemore Center's Sky Box Lounge.

The UNH club hockey team hosted its annual end of the season banquet this past weekend. 

3 Wildcats were rewarded with super-east awards

John Webster - 2nd Team All-SECHL (Defense)
Barry Driscol - 3rd Team All-SECHL (Goalie)
Steve Giangiulio - 3rd Team All-SECHL (Defense)

4 Wildcats were given team awards that were voted on by the players and coaches. 

Rookie of the Year - Mike Young.  Young completed his rookie season with an impressive 6 goals and 13 assists for a total of 19 points.  He lead all rookies in goals, assists, and points.

Comeback Player of the Year - Barry Driscol. This award is given out to the player who has played at least 1 prior season with the team and has stepped up their level of play since the season before.  Driscol posted an 8-7-1 record, with a total goals against average of 3.60.  He logged a total of 1133.85 minutes throughout the season.

The "Moose" Award - Shawn Olsten. This award is given to the player who best represents what it means to be a "Moose" and shows heart and soul.  Olsten's presense in the lockerroom and on the bench is something that will be dearly missed in the future. 

MVP - Brian Agahigian.  Agahigian completed his 4 year career with the wildcats posting his best season yet.  The senior captain recorded 11 goals and 19 assists for 30 points.  He led the team in assists and points, and finished second in goals. 

Senior to be, Chad Lafond, will be joining Reid McCarthy and Ryan Bergeron as captains for the 2010-2011 season.
