UNH Earns 2 SECHL Points Over Weekend!

Freshman Liam House-Myers recorded 2 points vs NYU, including his first collegiate goal.
After dropping a tough loss to a strong CCSU team on Friday night, UNH bounced back with a big 7-2 win against NYU.On Friday night, UNH took on #10 CCSU at the Whittemore Center in Durham NH. UNH would find themselves up early on in the first period, but would eventually fall to their SECHL foe 4-2.
UNH bounced back on Sunday afternoon with a strong win againt New York University, winning by a score of 7-2.
UNH put the first 3 goals on the scoresheet, with the goals coming from Mike Naylor, Shawn Thompson, and Brian Agahigian. Though NYU would score to make it a 3-1 UNH lead going into the thrid period, UNH picked up the scoring and responded with four third period goals.
Steve GIanguilio kicked off the scoring in the third period with a slap shot from the point that beat the NYU goalie during a delayed penalty call putting UNH up 4-1 early in the third. Three minutes later, it was UNH's John Webster who went end to end and fired a slap shot low golve side past the NYU goalie putting UNH up 5-1 only five minutes into the third period. Freshman Liam House-myers would increase UNH's lead to 6-1 with a nice move around the NYU defense and found the back of the net by firing the puck short side past the NYU goalie. Though NYU would score again to cut the UNH lead to 6-2 late in the third period, UNH's Brian Albertelli was able to pound home a goal of a nice pass by House-Myers to finish off a big 7-2 UNH victory.
UNH is back in action next weekend with two SECHL match-ups. On Saturday, January 30th, UNH will travel to Albany NY to take on Siena College. In their last meeting, UNH came out on top 6-4 at the Whittemore Center. On Sunday January 31st, UNH will play host to Holy Cross at the Whittemore Center for a 3:00pm start. UNH defeated Holy Cross earlier in the season by a score of 2-1 at the Hard Center in Worcester MA.
